NFL Power Rankings Week 4

Last week was an exciting one with with three top ten match ups. #2 New England dominated #7 Houston, #4 Carolina got man handled by #10 Minnesota and #6 Denver put a whooping on #9 Cincinnati. After the update rankings, there will only be one top ten match up on Sunday Night Football with #10 traveling to ##4 Pittsburgh.

Check out the previous weeks Power Rankings here.

  1. New England Patriots (3-0) (ESPN #2) – Up 1

How can they not be number one after this past weeks results. A shutout with their third string QB, is pretty damn impressive. A tough test coming this week with possibly no real QB available to play, but they get Buffalo at home, so they should be 4-0 without Brady, but even with a loss 3-1 is still pretty damn good.

  1. Denver Broncos (3-0) (ESPN #1) – Up 4

Their young QB looks much better after only three weeks of the season. If Siemian continues to improve, this team is a no brainer to make it back to the Super Bowl to represent the AFC.

  1. Green Bay Packers (2-1) (ESPN #6) – Up 2

Aaron Rodgers looked great in the first half, but the defense let them down in the second half. They will need to continue to mesh with Jordy back, but will be battling with Minnesota all season for the division lead.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) (ESPN #9) – Down 3

There’s not much to say after that ass whooping from the Eagles. The Steelers will use this as motivation but they also get back what some consider the best running back in football back this week. I’m higher on them than the professionals at ESPN, but I’m pretty sure they will be just fine.

  1. Minnesota Vikings (3-0) (ESPN #4) – Up 5

I’ve been underestimating this team all season. Even with their starting QB and RB, I wasn’t high on them, but it’s time I show some respect to this team. The defense has been phenomenal all year.

  1. Seattle Seahawks (2-1) (ESPN #3) – Up 2

Even with a hobbled Wilson, they dominated a division opponent. We’ll see how they do if they have to play without him this week.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) (ESPN #7) – Unranked

This pains me to do so. There’s not team I despise more but I can’t not put them in the top 10 after this week. The defense was figured to be okay, but the offense has been impressive with Wentz at the helm.

  1. Baltimore Ravens (3-0) (ESPN #10) – Unranked

They’ve been much better this year, but that will happen when your whole team isn’t on IR. But if someone bet me that Baltimore would be the division leader after three games, I would have took that bet in heart beat.

  1. Carolina Panthers (1-2) (ESPN #8) – Down 5

Super Bowl hangover much? Not much to say about the Panthers here. They got shut down by a good defense but Cam is expected to be much better than that regardless of what defense he’s going against.

  1. Arizona Cardinals (1-2) (ESPN #5) – Down 7

Well my Super Bowl pick isn’t looking too good after three games. They are losing games they found a way to win last season, but this week was an embarrassment losing so badly to Buffalo.

Biggest Jump: Minnesota Vikings

Biggest Drop: Arizona Cardinals

Dropped out of Top 10: 7. Houston Texans (1-2), 9. Cincinnati Bengals (1-2)

Just Outside of Top 10: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders
